Understand South Korean demand and put equipment sales in context.
South Korea supports demand for pneumatic components, compressors, air treatment and related equipment through new machinery, production investment, maintenance and improvements to existing facilities.
Market size provides a starting point. Production activity, equipment investment and the needs of individual customer industries help explain when that demand may turn into purchases.
South Korea’s share of the global market

These estimates describe different product markets and reference years. They should not be added together as a complete valuation of South Korea’s pneumatic and compressed-air sector.
Country market share describes revenue attributed to that market. It does not measure the worldwide sales of South Korean manufacturers or establish where products were manufactured.
What the forecasts suggest
Grand View Research forecasts average annual growth of 5.3% for South Korean pneumatic components from 2026 to 2033 and 5.2% for air compressors from 2025 to 2033. Pneumatic components source · Air compressors source
These are long-term forecasts, not evidence that current equipment purchases are growing at those rates.
Airmotion Directory’s interpretation: South Korea is a substantial equipment market. The timing of demand depends on the customer industry, investment decisions and the condition of existing equipment. A national growth forecast cannot explain every supplier’s sales.
Reading South Korean manufacturing demand
Production, shipments, inventories and equipment investment answer different questions. Higher production can increase equipment use without immediately creating a new capital project. Rising inventories can mean that production is running ahead of sales.
Equipment investment provides another signal, but broad investment figures include spending outside pneumatics and compressed air. Look for agreement between several indicators and the industries relevant to the equipment being sold.
Official statistics are available through KOSIS, the Korean Statistical Information Service. Check the reference month, whether figures are seasonally adjusted and whether the comparison is monthly or annual.
Where demand comes from

New equipment and production capacity
Machinery builders and expanding facilities purchase pneumatic controls, actuators, compressors and supporting equipment.
Maintenance and replacement
Existing installations require replacement components, repairs, service and equipment renewal. These needs can continue when investment in new capacity slows.
Changes to existing processes
Automation projects, production changes and different operating requirements can create demand without a new factory being built.
Operating-cost improvements
Air treatment, leak reduction, controls and more efficient equipment may attract investment where the operating savings justify the cost.
What to watch next
Track production and shipments in relevant customer industries, equipment investment and machinery orders, inventories and capacity utilization. Pneumatic and compressor shipment data can provide a more direct signal when comparable figures are available.
Energy prices, financing costs and exchange rates also affect purchasing decisions and the cost of imported equipment. Use KOSIS and the Bank of Korea for official economic data.
